The Coolidge Goes International

Dive Log, Nov 2006

Diving the President Coolidge in Vanuatu has always required a little extra effort, which only seems fair given the awesome depths and extensive penetration involved in exploring this magnificent wreck. But now, all that extra travel required to reach the final resting place of the Coolidge is a thing of the past.

Beginning November 11, Solomon Airlines flies direct from Brisbane to Santo 2 times per week! No more extra flights or extra accommodation for overnight transfers. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, you can now depart Brisbane at mid-day and arrive in Santo in plenty of time for happy hour!

As if the time savings weren’t enough incentive to book your next trip to Santo, consider the lower package prices and the fact that less travel time means more diving time. But if this along with the best wreck diving imaginable still hasn’t got you convinced, Aquamarine has put together a fantastic package for 2007 that you simply won’t want to miss.

For starters, Aquamarine has once again been taking divers to dive the USS Tucker. This fascinating wreck is often overshadowed by her big brother, the President Coolidge. However, divers who drag themselves away from the Coolidge for an afternoon dive are richly rewarded with fantastic visibility, superb marine life and an easy to navigate US Destroyer resting in 20 metres of warm tropical waters. This past year, numerous dive groups visited the Tucker with Aquamarine to rave reviews.

If you’re travelling with a group organized by your dive shop, you won’t want to miss a trip to the Coolidge in 2007. Group packages with Aquamarine include way more than just great diving. Groups enjoy free night dives on Aquamarine reef and are welcome to enjoy Aquamarine’s open air cinema where blockbuster films are projected under the stars.

Group packages with Aquamarine also include a free photographer. Aquamarine’s photographer will follow you around the Coolidge getting loads of happy snaps....but best of all, you get to keep all of the photos. Plus, you get a free photo CD with pictures of all of the Coolidge highlights. Imagine being able to change your computer wallpaper to a spectacular shot of you kissing the Lady or wearing a helmet from WWII.

And Aquamarine’s long tradition of finishing in style continues with free group happy hours after the diving has finished. Groups are welcomed down to Aquamarine to relax on the waterfront deck, enjoying complimentary (and potent) Aquamarine Home Brew along with a very entertaining slide show of their dives on the Coolidge.

Direct flights from Brisbane, more diving time, free dives, free photos and free happy hours! Could there be a better time to travel to Santo to dive the Coolidge? We think the answer is obvious.
