Aquamarine Launches New Dive on the Coolidge
You might think that after 60 years underwater and after thousands of divers have been to visit her, there wouldn’t be anything new to discover on the SS President Coolidge. Yet nothing could be further from the truth.

Aquamarine has just launched a brand new Coolidge dive, The Labyrinth, that takes divers to parts of the wreck not currently on the beaten track. Divers enter the wreck at 55 meters before twisting and turning through some rarely explored areas of the ship. The dive alone is adventure enough but divers also get to see an amazing selection of items that have only just been found on the Coolidge. It’s a definite adrenaline high and is a great addition to the more than 20 unique dive sites that Aquamarine already has on the Coolidge.

Aquamarine Pays Tribute to Boris
On the afternoon of Friday, March 4, Aquamarine paid tribute to Boris,
the tame 200kg grouper who had been delighting divers at the coral gardens around the SS President Coolidge for many years. While we hope that Boris simply swam off for a long holiday and will return one day, he has not been seen in nearly 2 years and Aquamarine felt it was time to remember him.
Sean Pittaway and divers from Frog Dive in Guilford joined Aquamarine in a small tribute ceremony in which a plaque was placed on the SS President Coolidge in Boris’ honor. Sean Pittaway photographed the festivities and was instrumental in choosing the site of the Boris plaque.
Divers wishing to pay tribute to Boris and see the plaque can dive the Boris Hash Tour with Aquamarine. Like all of Aquamarine’s Hash Tours, the Boris Hash Tour will go to a variety of places within the wreck and will include a stop at the Boris plaque. Aquamarine Tec Courses Now Include Instructor Level
Aquamarine, the only dive shop in Vanuatu offering tec diving and tec courses, has expanded its course offerings to include Instructor Training for Basic Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. And the SS President Coolidge is the ideal training site, sitting at a depth of up to 70 metres in warm tropical waters that never dip below 26°C. Aquamarine also offers Extended Range, Entry Level and Advanced Trimix certifications.
